Hearing the stories from couples who have met on EliteSingles is the best part of our day. Finding a partner for companionship, love, and friendship is truly special. Tina and Adam’s story of burgeoning romance is one of our favourites.
Tina wrote to EliteSingles to tell us how she found her partner Adam and how her first date was the perfect mixture of anticipation, spontaneity and fun.
Tina and Adam’s story
It seems EliteSingles gave fate a much-needed nudge as Tina and Adam discovered they only lived 7 minutes from each other. So, they met at a favourite local restaurant. Tina spotted Adam making his way there and the excitement started bubbling. She said, “I looked in my rear-view mirror to see Adam behind me, seeing him for the first time, I was overcome with butterflies and couldn’t stop smiling”.
At dinner, Tina could see that they had a lot in common and it was obviously a roaring success. But, she needed to know if Adam shared her sense of adventure, so she floated an idea to him as they finished up their meal. “Being the spontaneous, hyperactive person I am, I tested Adam’s spontaneity and said ‘let’s go for a walk’”. Adam rose to the occasion and it was in the park where Tina knew that Adam definitely warranted a second date. As they romantically held hands, Tina encouraged the pair to “…skip, sing, race to the top of a flight of stairs and swap piggyback rides.”
Adam passed date two with flying colours, but Tina says date three was when she knew this was something “extraordinary”. A keen adventurer, Tina is also a self-confessed fitness nut, she explained the third date setting: “I compete in Crossfit competitions and Adam wanted to spend the day watching me compete.”
Fittingly, Tina’s CrossFit group dressed in bright orange and had aptly named themselves ‘Shut Up Tina’. The competition was fierce so Tina’s team had to arrive early to register, and Adam sent her a message confirming that he’d just arrived at the event. Unsure of whether they’ll be able to spot each other in a crowd of over 300 people, Tina frantically searched for Adam, only to spot him: “Adam walked in his WHOLE body dressed in our teams’ colour – bright orange and a T-shirt saying Shut up Tina”.
Adam’s commitment and show of fun, spontaneity and adventure sent Tina’s heart aflutter and like something out of a romantic-comedy, she ran across the room to hug and kiss him. Knowing that he was Tina’s “type of crazy” kicked off their burgeoning relationship and, as Tina herself says, “every day since then has been magical.”
