Nightlife in Christchurch
After much of Christchurch’s nightlife quarters suffered in the earthquake there was a typically resourceful Cantabrian response in the form of…shipping container bars! These pop up venues might not offer traditional glitz and glamour, but bars like Cargo are very trendy and have a great atmosphere – think industrial-chic with an urbane twist.
If you are looking for something a little more elegant, The Monday Room is an excellent, award-winning2 wine bar that has live music and incredible drinks (made by really talented bartenders). They also boast an impressive menu should you be getting on so well that those first-date drinks turn into dinner!

Daytime dating
Dates in the daytime can be a touch more relaxing than their night time counterparts and Christchurch offers plenty of daylight dating options. Going out for coffee, for instance, can be an excellent way to take the pressure off the first date and the fabulous Black Betty makes a great choice, offering top-quality coffee in laid-back surroundings.
